To celebrate the opening of SCAPE, a special gala dinner has been organised. Held in a striking contemporary venue, the dinner will be a night to remember with a menu prepared by one of world's most renowned chefs, New Zealander Peter Gordon.

The SCAPE Gala Dinner will be an unforgettable evening of food, wine and art with a menu designed and prepared by one of the world's leading chefs, Peter Gordon. Co-owner and joint head chef of The Providores and Tapa Room in London. Peter is originally from Wanganui; and although he has been living in London for the past thirteen years, he is passionate about New Zealand food. This enthusiasm has inspired his 'fusion' style cuisine that has food critics and diners raving. Peter returns to New Zealand on a flying visit to cook for the SCAPE dinner, allowing guests to sample the creative culinary genius that has made him the toast of London and beyond.

Peter Gordon A well-known chef in both Britain and abroad, Peter Gordon set up The Sugar Club kitchens in Wellington, then Notting Hill and West Soho in London. Peter left The Sugar Club in November 1999, to begin various solo projects, culminating in opening The Providores and Tapa Room in August 2001 with Michael McGrath, Anna Hansen and Jeremy Leeming. In 2001, the Providores won the BMW Square Meal Award for best New Restaurant in the UK.

Peter also consults for Air New Zealand, Meat New Zealand and Changa Restaurant, Istanbul; is the best-selling author of two cookbooks; and has made numerous television appearances on Channel 4, the BBC, Carlton Television and the American Food Network - a network with 65 million subscribers. He also took New Zealanders on a nationwide culinary tour through a TVNZ One documentary, "Pacific Harvest."
